Coping with Teenager’s Emotions Workshop
There is no single right way to be a parent & there are many views on how to parent a teenager. Many parents have had the experience of an emotional teenager, for example your teenager over reacting to small things, mood swings or becoming angry. Parents can find this very difficult & might be unsure how to handle this situation for the best. It is perfectly natural for teenagers to become upset when things don’t go their way, but when emotions are running out of control it makes it harder to solve problems rationally. There are times when teenagers will behave in a childlike manner one moment & the next like an adult. The way parents respond to their teens in these situations can help their teenager learn how to manage these feelings for themselves. The way parents react can also reduce conflict or defuse what might otherwise be unpleasant arguments. Teen Triple P has been helpful for many parents and may give you some useful ideas to help you meet the challenges of raising teenagers.
So what is this workshop all about
The ‘coping with teenagers emotions’ workshop lasts two hours , usually there will be between 5-10 other parents . This workshop gives some practical suggestions to help you teach your teenager how to manage their emotions & how to manage any problems. The tips and strategies have been proven to work with families. The workshop will be relaxed and informal; you can talk as much or as little as you want. We will watch some video clips of common parenting issues. Have a chat about these, share some tips and ideas and you will choose the strategies you feel will work for your family. You will get a workbook to bring home.
Parents who have attended this workshop have told us things like:
