Who are we

Midlands Area Parenting Partnership (MAPP) is made up of Tusla and HSE staff and supported by range of community organisations to roll out the Triple P Positive parenting programme to parents of children and teenagers aged 2 – 15 years in Laois Offaly Longford and Westmeath. The community organisations include: Offaly local development, Laois partnership company, Parents First Laois Offaly, Barnardos, Tullamore Family Resource Centre and Portlaoise family resource centre, Laois Offaly education training board and Portlaoise education centre primary schools secondary schools crèches Laois county childcare committee Offaly county childcare committee, Longford County Child Care Committee, Westmeath County Child Care Committee, Westmeath Community Development, Longford Community Resources Ltd,Athlone and Carrick-on-Shannon Education Centres and Athlone Community Services.

We offer 1 hour seminars 2 hour workshops on topics such as dealing with disobedience, managing fighting and aggression, hassle free mealtimes, developing good bedtime routines , outings with your child and for teens, getting teens to cooperate, reducing family conflict, , coping with teens emotions and building family survival skills. We also have 7 week programme for both parents of younger children and teens. It is important to note that this is a population rollout of an evidence based tried and tested parenting programme, offered to all parents in the community FREE of charge. More than 24000 training places have been delivered between 2010 and 2017. With 4,855 training places attended in 2017.
